I’m someone who enjoys playing games, and from time to time I look for new games to play with my partner. This time, we’re playing a tavern-management game with farming elements where you grow crops and manage resources.

The thing is, to craft a beehive, you need bees as one of the materials — and they’re extremely hard to find. You have to chop down trees and rely on a random chance to get them.

We don’t actually need the beehive at all.

But because the bees are so rare and difficult to obtain, I suddenly really want them.

It’s funny — something completely unnecessary can become more important than something essential, simply because it’s rare.

Maybe that’s the madness of being human.
