There's no way to know what unexpected things might happen.

On the very first day of my visit to Ball's house in the United States, the refrigerator suddenly broke down. I was worried that all the food inside would spoil, so I took everything out and placed it on a table outside.

Luckily, it was during the Christmas season and the weather was extremely cold, so I thought it would be fine.

Then Tui, Ball's wife, said, "Aren't you worried that animals might come and eat the food?"

At that moment, I realized she had a point.

So we moved the food to the garage, where there was a spare refrigerator. In the end, we only left the water and cans of Coke outside in the cold.
