Sushi — or Nong Chi — is a mixed-breed cat, part street cat and part Persian. She’s affectionate and gentle by nature.
Today, I captured such an adorable moment of her. She was hugging the window, quietly looking outside at the view. Seeing her like that, I couldn’t help but admire her sweetness.
The happiness that arose in that moment — it was brief. Just a short while of pure warmth from witnessing her cuteness. But soon enough, that happiness faded. And suffering is the same — it, too, eventually fades away.
When I began to see this truth, I started trying to understand the experiences that enter my life more clearly — not becoming too attached to happiness, and not sinking too deeply into suffering.
