One day, DeeDee carried a gecko onto the bed. I was shocked. She walked in meowing proudly, as if she had brought me a gift.

Afraid that the gecko might die, I quickly picked DeeDee up and took the gecko out to the balcony. At first, I left it on the ground. But when I checked again, ants were starting to gather around it. So I put the gecko inside a box, placed an ant barrier sheet underneath to keep the ants away, and gave it a little rice and some water.

After two or three days, the gecko was able to run normally again. Once it seemed fully recovered and safe, I let it go.
