I have a habit of biting my nails a lot. Many people say that nail-biting is caused by stress. There are hardly any benefits to it—if there is one, it would probably be not having to trim your nails.

The downsides, however, are endless. Sometimes I bite them so severely that the skin around the base of my nails starts bleeding. It hurts a lot, and everything I touch becomes painful. It usually takes five or six days before my fingers return to normal.

Things are perfectly fine as they are, yet somehow I still find a way to hurt myself. That's life, I guess.

To anyone who struggles with the same habit, I hope you're able to quit nail-biting soon.
