I’m someone who loves making merit, but I don’t really like going out. One day, I thought — why not invite monks to come for a meal at home instead? My family liked the idea too, and that’s how our Tuesday merit-making tradition began.

At first, we were very enthusiastic and did it every week. But eventually, one of the monks suggested, “Maybe every other week would be better?” So we followed his advice.

As for the food, sometimes we cook it ourselves, and sometimes we order it. Peem’s parents usually prepare the main dishes. Mae Jaeng arranges the fruit beautifully. Papa adds a few extra delicious dishes. Peem takes care of setting up the table and making sure everything is in order. And Palang brings coffee as an offering.

That’s mostly our little group. And if anyone happens to be free, they’re always welcome to stop by and join in making merit with us.
